Process Genius is proud to be part of Team Finland, which secured first place at the MATISSE EU Project Hackathon in Porto — marking the second consecutive win following success in Rome earlier this year.

Our Business Development Manager, Valtteri Tanninen, represented Process Genius on-site and contributed to the winning team effort alongside experts from the University of Eastern Finland, 3D Talo, SolidComp, and ThingLink.

About the MATISSE EU Project

The MATISSE project is a European initiative bringing together more than 30 partners across seven countries. The project focuses on advancing the engineering, simulation, and validation of complex industrial systems through the use of Digital Twin technologies.

By combining expertise from academia, technology providers, and industry, MATISSE aims to accelerate the adoption of more efficient and intelligent engineering processes.

A Strong Collaborative Effort

The hackathon in Porto highlighted the strength of cross-organizational collaboration. Team Finland brought together diverse expertise spanning research, 3D technologies, simulation, and industrial applications.

This multidisciplinary approach enabled the team to develop innovative solutions and stand out among participants, ultimately securing first place in a highly competitive environment.

Winning the hackathon for the second time in a row reflects both the strength of the collaboration and the consistency of the team’s approach to solving complex challenges.

Digital Twins at the Core

Digital Twin technology played a central role in the hackathon solutions. As industries increasingly rely on accurate, data-driven models of physical systems, the ability to simulate, analyze, and optimize processes digitally becomes critical.

Process Genius contributes to this development through its 3D Digital Twin SaaS platform, which enables organizations to create connected, real-time representations of their assets and operations. These capabilities support more efficient engineering, improved validation processes, and better decision-making.

Driving Innovation Through European Collaboration

Participation in initiatives like MATISSE highlights the importance of European collaboration in advancing industrial innovation. By working together across borders and disciplines, organizations can accelerate the development and adoption of technologies that improve efficiency, sustainability, and performance.

Looking Ahead

We congratulate the entire Team Finland and all participating organizations for their outstanding work. We are proud to contribute to this success and look forward to continuing our involvement in the MATISSE project and future collaborative innovation initiatives.
